The Writer's Almanac from American Public Media: "'Talk to me about the truth of religion and I'll listen gladly. Talk to me about the duty of religion and I'll listen submissively. But don't come talking to me about the consolations of religion or I shall suspect that you don't understand.'" C. S. Lewis as quoted in the the Writer's Almanac.

The Writer's Almanac from American Public Media: "Charles Schulz said, 'The meaning of life is to go back to sleep and hope that tomorrow will be a bette"

From John Phelan's column in the November 2005 of the Covenant Companion.

"Theologian James Alison says: "we are all wrong...and that does not matter. Being wrong can be forgiven, it is insisting on being right that confirms our being bound in original murderous sin." Part of being a Jesus follower is to admit we can't finally get it right no matter how hard we try. In a similar vein, David Myers of Hope College responds to the question: What do you believe is true even though you cannot prove it? "As a Christian monotheist, I start with two unproven axioms: 1) There is a God. 2) It's not me (and it's also not you). Together," he continues, "these axioms imply my surest conviction: that some of my beliefs (and yours) contain error. We are, from dust to dust, finite and fallible. We have dignity, but not deity."

In the end, being a Jesus follower is not about knowing everything, but about trusting him. Being a Jesus follower is about loving, healing, and restoring his broken world." (End of Phelan quote).

I believe that God created ambiguity in the universe. There are example in physics like Heisenberg's uncertainity principle and the nature of light (wave or particle). There also are examples in theology. Faith versus works. How can Jesus be both man and God?

The essence of the uncertainity principle is that the more you know one attribute of an entity (like its location), the less you a complimentary attribute (its momentum).

A Talk Among Leisured People by Leo Tolstoy

A great short story by Leo Tolstoy that gets to the heart of the tension between living a Godly life and obligations to yourself and your family.
